I'm not going to sit here and pretend that this pick will appeal to everyone's taste (or financial circumstances, link for that link matter) – I wouldn't dare! Rather, this is something made for a specific persuasion of a watch enthusiast or collector. It's bold. It's gold. link And green! It's the antithesis of quiet luxury.
The steel Cornes de Vache comes on a brown calfskin strap with a smoked/aged appearance that Vacheron has matched with a steel link Maltese cross pin buckle. Upon receiving this watch for review, I sensed that the strap, though it is of obvious quality, would require quite a bit of break-in time. Were I to buy this link watch – for that matter, were I to review it in a lengthier format such as A Week On The Wrist – I might link change the strap to something a tad suppler and more casual looking.
If last year link was the year of the 222 for Vacheron Constantin, this is the link year of the retrograde. For the first time, Vacheron is introducing its signature retrograde date display into the Overseas line, taking an old-school complication and link bumping up the sportiness.
